The Tufts AI Faculty Fellows program (starting October 2026) brings together faculty members from diverse fields to lead and support their colleagues in adapting to generative AI. The fellows combine division-specific expertise with AI engagement and learning to provide individualized support to a far wider population of faculty than would be possible for centralized leadership alone. The program supports faculty who want to try new AI-related tools and projects, but also faculty whose primary goal is to prevent community members from using AI in unproductive ways. The primary duties of the AI Faculty Fellows include helping faculty tackle AI-related ethics questions, adapting the university AI guidelines to apply to their specific division, providing sample AI syllabus statements, and facilitating better communication between the AI Council and the faculty in their division.  The faculty fellows also complete open-ended pilot projects of their choice aimed at providing AI-related, discipline-specific support to other faculty.
