Springboard
Tufts Springboard is an internal grants program sponsored by the Office of the Vice Provost for Education (OVPE), the Office of the Provost, and Tufts Office of University Research and Innovation (OURI), as well as Tufts Medicine. The goal of Tufts Springboard is to stimulate high impact research, scholarship and educational initiatives that have an explicit plan leading to extramural funding or other outcomes that influence research, scholarship, educational outcomes, and/or policy. Moreover, the Tufts Springboard program aims to further the priorities of the University and its schools and to fortify Tufts’ status as a top-tier research university and member of the Association of American Universities.
Aligned with the Tufts Beyond 175 strategic vision, Springboard Education grants bring colleagues together across schools and units to develop interdisciplinary, transformative, flexible, scalable, and inclusive learning opportunities, in the classroom and beyond. Funded teams also become part of a university-wide cohort of education leaders connected through the Office of the Vice Provost for Education and the Impact Learning Network.
This year, Springboard Education Grants offers two funding opportunities:
Education: General
Supporting interdisciplinary educational innovation, with priority given to projects that incorporate experiential learning, AI, or both.
Education: Public Health
Supporting programs that prepare the next generation of public health leaders to tackle complex challenges across human, animal, environmental, and technological systems.
Applications for both grant opportunities are due Monday, November 30, 2026. Successful applicants will be notified within four weeks, with funding beginning January 1, 2027.
Please note: The Tufts Office of University Research and Innovation sponsors a separate Springboard Research Grant, which has a different application deadline.
