Artificial Intelligence at Tufts: Shaping the Future of Learning

AI is transforming higher education, from personalized learning and intelligent tutoring to research and analytics. At Tufts, we are committed to integrating AI responsibly and strategically across our schools, ensuring it is leveraged ethically, inclusively, and in alignment with our core institutional values.

An internal survey of department chairs and program directors revealed that while faculty are actively exploring AI in their teaching, efforts remain fragmented. Interest in AI-related credentials and interdisciplinary programming is growing. To address existing challenges and establish an institutional approach, Tufts has launched a cross-school AI+ Taskforce charged with developing a roadmap for AI education. This initiative promotes collaboration across disciplines—engineering, humanities, health sciences, and more—to create a shared vision for AI education that prepares our community to thrive in a rapidly evolving academic landscape.
